ARTIST STATEMENT
By experimenting with a variety of artistic media, both physical and digital, I create bold artwork that encourages people to embrace the unorthodox and mundane. From LEGO building to photography, and from animation to illustration, I can blend my knowledge and experience across these mediums to produce playful works that aim to bring smiles to others. Inspired by the eccentric nature of anime and manga, I incorporate heavy linework and exaggerated forms to convey the dynamic movement that brings characters to life. Rather than seeking beauty and realism in the traditional sense, I look for new and roundabout reasons that can turn even the most unassuming, sometimes childlike concepts into moments worth appreciating. I enjoy experimenting and creating in the moment as if it were a form of play, as I believe it is what allows us to express ourselves and our ideas in the purest form.
ABOUT ME
Although I was born in Los Angeles, California, I’ve been a Las Vegas local for as long as I can remember. While I’ve had to live a somewhat limited life, it has never stopped me from aiming for the highest standards in my work and academics (I’ve maintained overall A grades in every class, every term, since 5th grade!). Beyond that, I’ve grown up with many joys that remain close to my heart, including but not limited to: LEGO, comics, & that pink puffball named Kirby. Those were the benefactors who sparked my will to create and have remained ever-present to this day, even as I create for new purposes. A lot of my creative skills arose from self-taught experiences and challenges, which is what allows me to maintain a creative drive for myself and others. Knowing how difficult it can be to smile for myself, I find a much happier sense of purpose being able to make others smile through my own efforts.
